.Khans of Bollywood is a term used to describe leading male actors of Bollywood, the Mumbai-based Hindi film industry, whose surname are Khan. This term denotes the club that these actors belong to including their success with high salaries and competitive dominance in the industry. The most powerful Khans of the industry remains currently Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. All together, they have acted in seven of the 10 highest grossing Indian films ever. They also have been reported by various resources to command extremely high salary packages up to Rs.50 crores (US$7.5 million) per movie.[1][2][3]

In 2015, Forbes released a list of the 10 highest paid actors in the world. Salman Khan ranked 9th with total earnings of US$33.5 million.[4]

Other actors which are referred as such include Saif Ali Khan, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Feroz Khan, Fardeen Khan, and Zayed Khan.

His performance in the film and in the thriller Raakh (1989) earned him a Special Jury Award at the National Film Award ceremony. In 2001, Khan started a production company, whose first release, Lagaan, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and earned him a National Film Award for Best Popular Film and two more Filmfare Awards (Best Actor and Best Film). After a four-year absence from the screen, Khan continued to portray leading roles, most notably in the 2006 box-office hits Fanaa and Rang De Basanti. "We received a total of 7081 votes, out of which Roshan Jr has acquired 3912 (55 percent) votes thus beating Salman, who received 3173 votes (45 percent). A neck-to-neck fight, we must say," states the BL report.

So clearly, fans prefer Roshan's Krrish look over Khan's as the ultimate crime fighting hero. Now it remains to be seen whether the Kick star manages to shatter the record set by Roshan's last blockbuster – Krrish 3.

Analysing the huge fan following of Salman Khan

.One can safely say that amongst the Bollywood male actors, Salman Khan has probably the most fan following. One can notice his avid fans on Twitter, Facebook, Pinkvilla and even in your day to day life.

Salman Khan is a good looking man and a descent actor. He has had a number of Highs and Lows in his career. The lows probably due to his brush with Police and the like. Everyone is aware of him being charged with culpable homicide(2002) and the infamous Chinkara case (2006).

SRK, who has been in news for his magnum opus Happy New Year right since the first poster release in the first quarter of 2014, lost out to Salman Khan in this context. SRK's HNY also did brilliant business at the box office, becoming the second biggest grosser in India and the biggest grosser overall. But when it came to star power, he seemed to have lost it again to good friend Salman.

Surprisingly, the other Khan- Aamir did not even make it to the top 10 list which includes actors like Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and others. While Akshay and Ranbir enjoy the 3rd and 4th spot, Shahid Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Varun Dhawan occupied the 5th, 6th and 7th spots.

Also joining them on the list was Ranveer Singh, Fawad Khan and Emraan Hashmi who occupied the 8th, 9th and 10th spots respectively.
